What is your favorite childhood book?
I LOVED books as a child (still do). I could sit and read for hours. When I was in Elementary School I read all of The Babysitter’s Club series. I remember saving my allowance so I could go to the bookstore and look for a new book in the series.
What is your secret talent?
I can make balloon animals!
Who was your favorite teacher in Elementary School and Why?
Mrs. Campbell, my 2nd grade teacher, was my favorite teacher in Elementary School. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and understanding and she made me feel like I was an important part of the bigger community. I still keep in touch with her—she came to my wedding and has helped me celebrate other personal and career milestones.
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
My favorite thing about being a School Counselor is working with students. I am so fortunate to have a career where I get to meet new people, learn about them—their interests and passions—and help them develop skills and craft paths. Watching students learn and grow and discover new things about themselves, each other, and the world around them is truly a wonderful thing.
What is your favorite subject to teach and why?
My favorite subject is when we get to focus on Career and College Exploration. I love to hear about students’ hopes and dreams for the future, learn about new career options, and see excitement build for all of the possibilities.
Why are you excited to be a part of the Willow family?
I am excited to join the Willow Family this year because it feels just like that—a supportive, inclusive, caring, and empowering family. I can’t wait to be a part of the community and continue to grow and develop together.
