What is your favorite childhood book?
My favorite childhood book is Charlotte’s Web. I still love to read this book to my students every year! I just love the timeless themes of friendship, kindness, courage, the value of believing in oneself, self-sacrifice and the preciousness of life. 
What is your secret talent?
My secret talent, well likely not a talent but more of a hobby, is that I just love to rollerblade with my oldest son and granddaughter weekly!   
 
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
My favorite thing about teaching is the classroom community that is built every year and the relationships formed with students, colleagues and community members. 
 
What is your favorite subject to teach and why?

My favorite subject to teach is phonics because it’s a foundational skill for reading. Once students understand the relationship between letters and sounds, they are able to decode and read!
