What is your favorite childhood book?

My favorite childhood book is If you give a mouse a cookie by Laura Numeroff. Just like the title, this book starts with the simple act of sharing a cookie with a mouse and leads to a day full of action. This story shows how every action has an affect and can lead to something new. As a child I related to the mouse as my days were never ending with one thing leading to the other with everything new thing catching my attention.

What is your secret talent?

My secret talent is crocheting. My mother taught me how to crochet when I was 9 years old but I really picked up the hobbie 3 years ago. I can crochet many different things and I’m pretty fast!

What is your favorite thing about teaching?

My favorite thing about teaching is giving children the opportunity and space to explore the world around them confidently. My goal as a teacher is to help children grow a love for exploring the things that interest them and not be afraid to take a leap in new directions. I love seeing children that are truly engaged in the work they do.

What is your favorite subject to teach and why?

My favorite subject to teach math. Math can be very difficult and frustrating but when understood, can be just as rewarding. It’s a universal language that everyone in the world understands no matter where they come from. From the internet to the way a shell is shaped, math is all over the world!
